late Fall message and update...

Hello Heartland Soccer Club Families:
Following on from a successful summer season, we had a very rewarding Fall Season which saw the following programs take place:
· Fall Recreation in Park Rapids - 19 players
· Fall Recreation in Walker - 12 players
· Fall Super league in Walker for 8-12’s – 32 players
· Fall Older Co-ed Team in Park Rapids – 24 players
· Rec Program in Pine River – 71 ( co-sponsored with PR Community Ed Program)
In addition, the WHA girls High School team, made up mostly of Heartland Players, had an excellent winning season and made it to the section semi-finals.
This was our first full year using the Playmetrics registration platform and we will continue to use more of the features available in coming seasons. We would welcome any feedback you have on your experience using Playmetrics, or anything you think would have been useful to have.
Some things we are working on:

Fundraising and writing grants so we can provide more equipment and more scholarships, and railings down the steps to the Walker field.

Continue to develop soccer opportunities in surrounding communities such as Pine River and Cass Lake.

Continue to develop older player opportunities on the boys side so that parents can push for the return of High School Boys Soccer

Exploring more coach education opportunities

Develop a Newsletter with interesting and informative stories about our Teams and Coaches. Content suggestions, story contributions and photos can be sent to Steve White via the Playmetrics email system.
Winter Soccer:
In Walker, we have secured indoor time for soccer training and playing for Sunday evenings from November through March. The club is introducing a new program called the Heartland Soccer Academy to provide for all levels of play, beginning with intermediate and advanced. The first target group for the Academy are those players who want to train hard in soccer and try more advanced skills and concepts. Invitations will be sent to players that have demonstrated the aptitude and attitude to handle such a regime.
The Winter program will take place in the small gym at WHA School as follows:
Dates:
November 9th, 16th and 23rd
December 7th and 14th
January 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th
February 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd
March 1st, 8th, 22nd, 29th
Times:
5:00pm - 6:15pm - Heartland Practice 8-12 year olds – free program
6:15pm - 7:30pm - Heartland Soccer Academy - $35 fee (for shirt)
We are also interested to explore opportunities in Park Rapids, Pine River, Cass lake or Nevis. If any parents in these communities are able to help with gym availability in these communities, please reach out to Simon Whitehead.
